Purpose of Role:

This role will support the Eukanuba Brand Manager. Their support enables the Brand Manager to operate at a more strategic level and to dedicate time to informing and influencing key stakeholders. The roles and responsibilities are imperative to managing to and reporting on the business performances and to supporting brand communication and innovation efforts.

Key Responsibilities:

• Work closely with Brand Director and Brand Managers to assist in the creation and execution of integrated marketing plans that communicate the product or campaign focus in all aspects of the marketing and advertising mix for both D2C and D2B.

• Assist brand team in influencing innovation/renovation plans with market category, business and consumer insights, competitive communication and claims as inputs to drive brand profitability and growth. Assist team in the launch of product innovations to US market including product news, new packaging, and analysis of portfolio profitability.

• Assist brand team with S&OP process as it pertains to responsible sub-brands: estimated annual volumes, key assumptions and initiatives requiring resources for new products in development. Work closely with demand teams and innovation project manager on the total forecast, risks/opportunities assessment, gap-fill planning and project prioritization

• Assist in cross-functional organization, planning, execution and implementation of all marketing programs/campaigns that ensure compliance with brand standards and help grow business within channel

• Aid Brand Managers in inventory forecasts, packaging initiatives, and new product launches with an understanding of supply chain and operations. (Executes plan modifications and line extensions)

• Conduct competitive surveillance and analysis

• Work closely with marketing research, sales, supply chain/distribution, and legal in the development of product launches and marketing campaigns

• Closely monitors and analyzes sales volumes, market share trends and competitive activity in partnership with category and sales operations

• Help ensure open communication and smooth workflow between cross-functional divisions (e.g., sales, creative)

• Develop a monthly “state of brand health” report with insights and recommendations

• Monitor and manage the marketing budget: forecast all expenses and allocate the spend based on ROI by activity

Context and Scope:

The ROYAL CANIN/EUKANUBA Assistant Brand Manager, as part of a team of marketers, will help lead the execution of marketing programs and campaign initiatives and assist with post activity/event analysis. Additionally, this position will support the development of annual marketing and communications plans, track key performance indicators and report on results.

· Overnight and weekend travel required, up to 15%

Minimum Qualifications:

·  Bachelor’s Degree in Business or Marketing. MBA or previous experience in brand preferred.
·  3+ years marketing experience in CPG (consumer packaged goods) companies preferred with an understanding of the following areas: product development, sales/analytics, packaging, advertising, promotions, and/or communications

Required Knowledge and Experience:

·  Strong analytical and data analysis skills with ability to generate insights that will translate to strategies

· Executional excellence that showcases attention to detail and adherence to deadlines

· Ability to set and achieve goals and manage multiple projects and priorities

· Excellent communication and presentation skills (oral and written)

· Excellent PC skills (Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)

· Ability to function as a team player and project leader in an open office environment

· Ability to create strong relationships across internal departments and external partners
