Lapita is a Polynesian themed hotel, located in the heart of Dubai Parks and Resorts. A hotel which is dedicated to families and friends who want to stay close to all the activities that the theme parks will be offering. With 504 rooms, including 60 suites and 3 villas, Lapita is the perfect relaxation point after a day of adventures and fun. Part of Marriott's Autograph Collection this amazing hotel offers five food and beverage outlets, two outdoor pools and a lazy river, a spa and health club, Luna & Nova Kids & Teens Club as well as meeting and event facilities. The hotel's name was inspired by the pre-historic Pacific Ocean people and their journey and settlement into the Islands ( the Lapita movement ). The design draws its inspiration from the exotic Polynesian tropical landscapes, featuring Polynesian flowers, lagoon-style pools, and themed activities.

Essential Functions

Manages overall operations of recreation and kids club department.

Develops and implements customized menu of classes and services, including special programs, based on guest feedback and assessment of needs.

·  Maintains department supplies and equipment.
Ensures quality and safety for all areas of service and facility.

Manages pool and activities staff to ensure brand standards of hospitality and cleanliness are met.

Ensures all facilities are in appropriate operating condition.

Schedules work/repairs as needed with the Engineering Department.

Maintains and enforces safety standards and procedures with the recreation staff.

Ensures appropriate fees are charged to guests and that proper cash handling procedures are followed by all members of the recreation staff.

Hires, trains, and monitors development of recreation staff.

·  Manages operating budget.
·  Assists with major equipment purchases.
Selects and ensures appropriate training and certification of all recreation staff.

Schedules and maintains appropriate coverage of all recreation operations.

Manages recreation department man-hours and expenditures as budgeted.

Provides ongoing coaching and training to staff members.

Makes final decisions regarding the opening and closing of the pools and spas, based on weather and condition of facility.

Works closely with Destinations Group to provide support for the recreational activities of convention groups.

Provides special programming for holiday weekends and heavy transient time periods.

Plans and implements special recreational opportunities for resort guests as business demands.

Develops and implements marketing strategies for fitness assessment center and health programs.
