Main Goal

Under the direct supervision of the HMCK Manager, with the local supervisor of production Network, develop grower network and help growers to ensure vegetables seed production (from sowing / transplanting to seed extraction) according to targets of quality, quantity, timelines and costs for farm-allocated crops and to record all production data.

Job description

• Collaborate
o Collaborate with a local technical supervisor
• Prospection
o Identify reliable and technical growers for vegetables seed production
• Contracts
o Explaining and ensuring the good understanding of the production contracts by the growers
o Having the contracts signed before delivering seeds / seedlings to growers
• Crop follow-up
o Providing production advices to the growers
o Ensuring a crop follow-up for each plot
o Ensuring a regular control during pollination and harvesting to avoid the presence of inbred and to guarantee rigorous process and labeling
• Procurement
o Organizing on-site packing and transportation of all produced seeds to the production Farm in Nanyuki

• Reporting

o Implementing a production report according to the HMCK Manager specification
o Reporting to all Limagrain Vegetable Seed Suppliers
o Reporting weekly at Nanyuki Home Farm

Profile

• Knowledge of Vegetables Seed production
• Rigor, sense of observation and reactivity
• Ability to negotiate and convince
• Fluency in English, knowledge of other Kenyan languages is an advantage,
• European nationality due to VIE program requirements
