As part of the Advanced Research R&I team, the Regenerative Beauty Discovery Domain is responsible for driving upstream scientific and clinical innovation programs, in order to deliver new technologies with strong proven efficacy. The team has been playing a pivotal role in the global Research & Innovation group. We build strong international research partnership and collaborations, scout for new technologies in modern cosmetic/health sciences/medical aesthetics fields, deliver proof-of-concept for new technology innovations (active ingredients, devices, etc.), and work closely with our research partners and key opinion leaders to transform upstream technologies into consumer product opportunities.

L’Oreal USAis currently seeking a talented and innovative Scientist/Sr. Scientist to join our Regenerative Beauty Discovery Domain within the Advanced Research function located at our Clark, NJ facility.

·  Under the guidance of the lab head/project leader, design and deliver in vitro scientific discovery programs related to skin health, wound healing, skin barrier, and tissue regeneration
·  Drive the discovery and characterization of new active ingredients/devices and identify new biological targets/mechanisms of action for skin benefits
·  Deliver novel in vitro models, assays, and discovery work using ex vivo human skin, 3D reconstructed skin, primary cell cultures, and combined modern molecular/cellular biology/immunology techniques
·  Work cross functionally with other research partners in US and globally, including in vitro, clinical, and formulation functions in order to design and execute the right in vitro programs
·  Retro-plan studies, collect, analyze, and report high quality data in a timely manner
·  Manage daily laboratory operations, SOPs, and transversally support all related scientific projects
·  Manage external collaborations with in vitro CROs and service labs

·  MS or PhD degree in Biology, Biomedical Sciences, Dermatology, or related fields with a minimum of 2-year hands-on experience in a biomedical laboratory setting; experience in Cosmetic or Pharmaceutical industry is a plus (Title based on Qualifications)
·  Strong knowledge in human skin cell cultures and excellent sterile technique is required. Previous experience with handling human tissue samples is required
·  2-year hands-on experience in immunofluorescence, IHC and PCR methods, ELISA assays (general and multiplex), flow cytometry and microscopy imaging techniques are required.
·  Experience in setting up in vitro models to study effects of compounds modulating inflammation or immune system function
·  Experience in HPLC, LC-Mass spectroscopy, confocal raman spectroscopy or related instruments
·  Experience with design, coordinate and execution of cutaneous compound penetration studies
·  Strong understanding of skin physiology and pathology. Working knowledge with wound healing, skin barrier function, and photobiology.
·  Excellent communication, presentation, and organization skills
·  Experience in writing functional testing SOPs following good documentation practices (GDP) and good lab practices (GLP)

·  Highly motivated and a team-player
