Our program

During your internship, you will get down and be involved with the inner workings of a successful, market-leading Beauty company, as you collaborate and learn from some of the most passionate, intelligent and creative people. One L'Oréalite can create a huge impact, and it is no different with our interns. Many of our leaders are L’Oréal babies who started with us as Interns and progressed to Management Trainees.

We are looking to hire a Scientific Foresight Intern for our Research & Innovation team (R&I) based in Singapore international research and development centre for biomedical sciences, Biopolis, to navigate and scout the universe of technology developers for the most promising solutions that meet industry needs.

Key responsibilities of this role:
·  Do market research on start-ups, innovations, and venture capital investments in the APAC region (strong focus on China, so fluency in Mandarin is a PLUS)
·  Identify opportunities and connect with potential innovation partners or start-ups
·  Evaluate technological start-ups across a range of key metrics to uncover the highest potential partners based on quality of fit to L'Oreal
·  Open innovation initiatives and activities

The ideal candidate should have:

·  Background and interest in technology-related fields such as Engineering, Life Sciences, Chemistry & Biomedical Sciences
·  Passion for spotting new opportunities in the commercial world
·  Keen interest in biomedical technology in daily life
·  Fluency in Mandarin (absolutely necessary to read and communicate in Mandarin)
·  Results-oriented, able to take initiative and has strong follow-up skills
·  Outgoing personality, high energy, strong communication skills
·  Independent worker and able to deliver within tight timelines

My time in L’Oréal has taught me how to source for emerging science and technological trends that could be potentially incorporated into cosmetics. By monitoring, analyzing and communicating these trends specific to the Asia-Pacific regions, I have the autonomy to assist with proposing action plans for L’Oréal to capitalize on new R&D and business opportunities.”
