Overview of the opportunity:

The Submission Writer is responsible for creating and crafting submission letters in support of Temporary Canadian Work Permits, Temporary Resident Visas, and associated status and entry document applications. This role requires an exceptional command of the English language, excellent time management & multi-tasking skills, attention to detail, a strong work ethic and ability to work well in a team environment.

What you will do:

Immigration:

·  Review all collected forms and documents for accuracy and consistency
·  Draft legal argument outlining eligibility of applicant to qualify for immigration document
·  Prepare appropriate forms for submission
·  Create and/or edit supporting documentation for review
·  Make any edits/corrections as highlighted by lawyer
·  Complete and compile package and send out to client
Administration:

·  Prepare cover letters and fax/email completed packages as required
·  Ensure that all correspondence and forms are recorded in internal database and that all fields are completed
·  Provide administrative support to supervising lawyer as required
·  Train and assist new employees in the Submission Writer role
What you bring to the role:

·  Undergraduate degree
·  An interest in immigration law
·  1-2 years of immigration experience an asset
·  Time management skills are critical
·  Ability to demonstrate analytical and problem solving skills within a fast-paced environment
·  Attention to detail and accuracy
·  Ability to multi-task and meet aggressive deadlines
·  Strong organizational and computer skills
·  Excellent verbal and written communication skills
·  Computer proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
·  Ability to locate and research information efficiently, to use it effectively, and to evaluate the quality of the information
·  Knowledge and understanding of the legal language an asset
