Job description



We are looking for qualified Assistant Managers to join the London based team.

Main Responsibilities:

- Delivery of client engagements, both in small sized teams and as part of larger multi-disciplinary teams, reporting directly to the engagement manager and partner.
- Delivering Section 166 reviews and reporting to the FCA / PRA as part of a wider team.
- Providing clients with assurance and advisory services over their arrangements for producing, validating and submitting regulatory returns.
- Providing guidance on the application of prudential rules contained in CRDIV/CRR and the PRA / FCA handbooks.
- Keeping up to date with industry specific issues and circumstances which affect banking regulation.
- Assisting in the preparation of presentations, training, thought leadership and marketing material.
- Undertaking KPMG's risk management and client acceptance and continuance procedures.

Specific examples of work that the individual would be involved in are:
- Delivery of advisory and assurance projects relating to capital, liquidity, regulatory reporting and other regulatory projects as required.
- Research and preparation of technical advice in responding to client and internal queries.
- Preparation of presentations to investment banking clients on regulatory reporting requirements.

Necessary Qualifications and Skills:

- Strong understanding of businesses, structures, governance frameworks and process & control infrastructures of firms in the banking sector.
- Strong communication skills and ability to influence and deal with senior individuals.
- Strong project management skills.
- Background in regulation with technical proficiency in capital, liquidity or conduct of business areas.

Necessary Experience and Background:

- Educated to degree level
- ACA professional qualification or an international equivalent is preferable, but not essential
- Strong knowledge of regulatory rules and guidance, but crucially the practical application within the banking industry.
- Excellent project management skills, demonstrated by a record of financial services audit, regulatory assurance and/or advisory project delivery.
- The ability to evaluate technical issues, analyse facts, consult and deliver solutions to clients.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills including an ability to communicate well with clients both in writing and verbally.
- Understanding of regulatory developments and key current issues facing clients.
- Experience in working with teams and the ability to work independently.
