As our team grows, we are seeking engaged and motivated professionals to be a part of our team and currently have a unique opportunity for a Pool and Ponds Technician to join the team on island for this exciting journey, and be a part of the Engineering team ongoing.

Your day to day

If you'd like to embrace a wider world of experiences and opportunities, we'd like to welcome you to the world's most international luxury hotel brand as a Pool and Ponds Technician; a key role in our dynamic live on island team that maintains all resort water features and pools. Ensuring minimal disruption to the guest experience, you will perform scheduled maintenance and cleaning procedures on our pools, ponds, lagoons and multiple water features across the resort, including carrying out scheduled, cleaning, testing water for quality and chemical balance, back washing and routine maintenance on all valves, taps, hoses connections and other equipment. 

What we need from you

The ideal candidate will hold a Queensland General Safety Induction Card (White Card) and open driver's licence and have had exposure to, experience around and knowledge of pool and spa filtration and pump systems and water analysis. To be successful in this role you will need to have good problem solving skills and possess excellent customer service & communication skills to support the wider Engineering department and Resort to deliver the InterContinental Life.

Familiarity with Microsoft Office, and reporting tools like HotSoS and Hardcat and a working knowledge of general hand tools and domestic and industrial equipment will be a plus and you will have the flexibility to work various shifts including early mornings, weekends and public holidays across a seven day roster. You must hold meet the legal requirements to work in this country.
