Z System Product Support

Job description

Design and implement tools for automated deployment and monitoring of multiple system environments (sysplexes).
Have experience with programming/scripting in a language such as Java or Python (we, z/OS use JCL, REXX and SMP/E)
Have an interest in, understanding of, or experience with Agile development methodology.

Strong written and verbal communications skills. Will need to communicate heavily with z/OS users/testers/developers, systems programmers and management (some of which know a lot about z/OS and some will know very little).

Are great at (and love) solving problems, debugging, troubleshooting, designing and implementing solutions to complex technical issues. You will be troubleshooting system programmer issues and help with testers/developers troubleshooting their own issues.
Are familiar with Linux/Unix and Windows. These two operating systems are used indirectly to support z/OS.
Automate and optimize processes, using tools like JCL and REXX.

Work with and a general understanding of z hardware (z processors and the different devices they are connected to (tape, DASD, switches...)).

Key Tech Skills: Several/variety of programming/scripting languages. Familiarity with how operating systems (Linux/Unix/Windows) work and run
