Project:

HSBC is undertaking the large-scale redevelopment of its Global Trade and Receivables Finance systems. These applications will be deployed across a large number of technologies with a global footprint using multiple deployment configurations. The HTS is a new application which contains third part application(s) that will need to be understood, developed and supported by HSBC teams. A good business understanding will be needed to evaluate project requirements to deliver the best IT solutions.

Role:

The Technology Solution Architecture job is accountable to work with the Portfolio and Platform Architects, Technical Lead & Engineers to define the detailed solution design (incl. Story Decomposition) for stories in backlog.

This role will carry out some or all of the following activities:

Accountable for ensuring the products & services are supported by the right architectures and solutions meet the customer needs

Accountable for ensuring the design of the product solutions are cost effective and maintained through the agile development lifecycle, managing the flow of the backlog of design activities

·
Working with Ops Engineers to ensure operational issues (performance, operator intervention, alerting, design defect related issues, etc.) are resolved and that any design related issues are addressed in a timely manner.

·
Convert requirements into actionable product/service requirements that feed Technology solutions development & influence service direction.

·
Responsible for ensuring solutions are aligned with the platform architecture and roadmap, group standards and policies and the overall enterprise architecture for their function.

·
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on large programme on a truly global scale.

Desired profile

Qualifications :

Mandatory experience :
· 
Have worked previously with Vendors and Third-Party Applications

· 
Have experience of working in the Financial Services sector

· 
Must be able to manage their own workload and provide accurate reporting on progress against agreed targets

· 
Have expertise to articulate and document end-to-end solutions and distil these into Architectural Decisions, Risks, Issues, Assumptions and Dependencies

· 
Must be able to manage a range of stakeholders across different levels and different disciplines

· 
Capable to work alone and in concert with colleagues

· 
Be able to support development teams as they take the high/mid-level design into Development, through to Testing and Implementation

· 
Be willing to work outside normal working hours to accommodate meetings in different time zones (e.g. UK, Pune, Hong Kong, Canada)

· 
Must have demonstrable experience in delivering designs from conception through to deployment

· 
Must be a strong communicator in a variety of mediums (English)

Desirable Experience:
·  Commercial Banking Products
·  Agile development lifecycles
·  Use of Confluence and JIRA tools
·  Services (REST, Micro, Web) design
·  Understanding of API/Interface Specifications
·  WebSphere MQ (Integration Broker)
·  Cloud deployments

The base location for this role is primarily Southward/Waterloo, although some travel may be required.
