Job description
Context: The IT Architecture Practice is made up of 4 domains: Application, Infrastructure, Security and Data.
The Infrastructure Architecture function partners with Application, Security and Data Architecture to:
1. Deliver high quality technology platforms with tiered service levels
2. Deliver cost savings & efficiency through reduced complexity
3. Improve time to market for delivery of services
4. Enable effective regulatory, audit & security controls
5. Drive productivity & sustainability
Infrastructure Architecture is comprised of:
- Enterprise Architects responsible for 3-5 year technical strategy, underpinning the Future State Architecture.
- Solution Architects aligned to each Global Business to manage & optimise the portfolio of infrastructure services used, driving operational improvement & cost efficiencies and providing cost effective infrastructure architecture & designs which align with over all technical strategy.
- Technical Architects aligned by each technology to manage the infrastructure services, vendor engagement and product lifecycles.
All infrastructure architects from all business and functions are a member of the Infrastructure Architecture Practice. As practice members they benefit from the standards and methods defined by the practice and contribute back to the practice community.
Purpose of the Role
The primary purpose of the role is to deliver Architecture and Designs to meet the business requirements of Group Data IT.
The Infrastructure Solution Architect will critically review and approve all infrastructure designs for Group Data IT, ensuring designs meet the architecture strategy and the overall enterprise infrastructure strategy.
