Job description



The DevOps Engineer role sits within HSBC's Commercial Banking (CMB) Technology Engineering Team.

The Dev Ops Engineering job is responsible for developing the most appropriate and secure Technology solutions using iterative software development/programming in line with the solution design, to meet the project needs, ensuring continuous improvement.

Your responsibilities will include:

· Responsible for automating the continuous integration/continuous delivery pipeline within a DevOps Product/Service team driving a culture of continuous improvement
· Work with the development lead/team to engineer automation software, scripts and tools to streamline and improve productivity and quality of the release management process
· Design and develop software lifecycle processes with a focus on automation of build, testing and deployment process on all environments to minimize variation and ensure predictable high quality code and data
· Ensuring compliance with all relevant controls and standards including relevant IT Service Management Standard
· Ensure high data quality exists in Service Management systems of record
· Provide support in identification and resolution of all DevOps incidents associated with the IT service
· Keep up-to-date and have expertise on current tools, technologies and areas like cyber security and that are applicable to Cloud based technologies

Qualifications :

The ideal candidate for this role will have the below experience and qualifications:

·  Azure DevOps / VSTS - Mainly Knowledge of creating pipelines (build/releases)
·  GIT - Good understanding of concepts and operations
·  PowerShell - Knowledge of creating scripts for automating tasks
·  .NET - Good .NET knowledge required for custom code to automate manual steps of Dynamics
·  Dynamics 365 Customer Engagement / Power Platform - Good knowledge of Dynamics, this is essential for automating pipeline and deployment steps
·  Azure - Knowledge of Azure Functions/App Service Development & of Azure Key Vault
·  SQL/SSIS - General knowledge about database and ETL packages required for build/deployment/execution
·  Agile/DevOps - Good understanding agile and DevOps principals & experience of working in a DevOps/Agile environment
·  Experience with creating automated pipelines

The base location of this role will be 8CS, London.
