Retail Banking and Wealth Management serves more than 50 million customers worldwide with a complete range of banking and wealth management services to enable them to manage their finances and protect and build their financial futures. It is a global business that brings together management responsibility for Retail Banking, Wealth Management, Insurance and Asset Management with a focus on customer-centric propositions and innovative and efficient distribution channels.

We are seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as a Business Agility Coach.

Principal responsibilities

The purpose of the role is to provision the development of agile capabilities and support the global vision to embed business agility across RBWM change portfolios, focusing on coaching, community and improving ways of operating.

As capability matures, the role holder is expected to gain more of a delivery focus and support the on-going development of strategic customer journeys as a hands-on agent for change.

1. Coaching the People
The role holder will use all their skills and experiences to assist multi-disciplinary change teams with the adoption of collaborative work practices, embedding the agile principles, and bringing in innovative ideas to improve ways of operating and ensure continuous improvement over time. They will help colleagues to really question and change the way they work, driving greater agility in delivery, and putting the customer at the centre of everything they do.

2. Building the Community
The individual will be part of a small community of change agents, promoting collaboration across portfolios, engaging with delivery management, building lean-agile capability, and influencing a genuine culture of learning across the broader RBWM Transformation community. This includes helping colleagues to evolve effective work habits and learn from others while increasing participation in community activities.

3. Enabling the Change
The successful candidate will work as an interface between senior transformation leaders and the delivery teams, surfacing lessons learnt from doing and providing recommendations to make things simpler, better, faster. They will be accountable for identifying and removing team or cross-team impediments, reporting their findings to the Business Agility Lead as part of an overall change programme.

Other responsibilities

· Provides subject matter expertise on agile methods, frameworks, and how to tailor them for teams that deliver solutions to meet business needs
· Educates employees at all levels, including senior management, on Agile principles, providing them with support and tools for implementing agile in their own work
· Provides training sessions and teach valuable skills that lead toward the organisation-wide adoption of Agile
· Responsible for guiding teams into the Agile ways of working, providing employees with feedback, and means of improvement, catalysing organisational growth and answering questions
· Provide hands on support to employees, collaborating with people across widely varying levels and roles, leading teams toward further understanding and adoption of agile as well as overall company growth and improvement
· Implements agile process, principles, and practices across all levels and departments in an organisation
· Endorses techniques that increase collaboration, predictability, transparency, and promote a culture of experimentation and innovation
· Ensures adherence to agile processes, demonstrating strong knowledge of and background with agile concepts

·  Have the courage of a warrior, the patience of a saint, and a reservoir of humour to work with all kinds of people
·  Be prepared to lose some battles but bounce right back and help the organisation improve its agility & responsiveness by keeping your eye on the bigger picture
·  Constantly be exploring the art of the possible in helping teams adopt agile principles & practices
·  Know Kanban, Scrum, and Scaling Frameworks like SAFe inside out
·  Train & hands-on demonstrate agile concepts & use of artefacts such as user stories, impact maps, story maps, big visible charts, planning, estimation, governance sessions, etc
·  Clearly explain the 'why' of the views you are articulating with practical examples (preferably from banking domain) so that participants experience agile as a logical/natural way of working as opposed to a theoretic possibility
·  Have clarity of thought and expression and have the ability to influence team members at various stages of maturity and experience with agile methods
·  To have done it and lived it before you teach it
·  Fluent in English. Proficiency in Cantonese and or Mandarin Chinese is an advantage
·  Agile certification such as; Certified Scrum Master, Professional Scrum Master or SAFe Program Consultant
·  Experience using and configuring workflow tools such as Jira and Confluence
·  Experience in software engineering and test automation is an advantage You'll achieve more when you join HSBC.
