HPE Storage is expanding operations and looking for a highly motivated and qualified product engineer to provide engineering and quality oversight for the current and new Storage product portfolio. This individual will apply engineering knowledge to solve common and complex business/product engineering issues within established guidelines and will recommend solutions/alternatives.  Will work on problems/projects of diverse complexity and scope. Will exercise independent judgment within generally defined policies and practices to identify and select a solution. Will work in a team environment and contribute to the project. Work will consist of managing current and new product manufacturing, addressing quality issues, analyzing, troubleshooting system hardware/ software/ firmware and debugging systems, software and solutions for HP's Enterprise Storage portfolio.

Key responsibilities include; 

·  Storage GPE focal point/lead covering GPE needs at the Mexico based CM sites.  As needed, will require travel to the contract mfgs located in Mexico
·  Primarily responsible to support Storage GPE sustaining and NPI Storage needs for CM’s located in Mexico, near El Paso.  Additionally support global World Wide Storage GPE needs
·  Sustaining phase;
·  Triage and drive root cause/corrective action of SC engineering issues
·  Support assurance of supply and factory/customer quality issues.
·  Manage and report quality for Storage products. Resolves all quality/technical issues impacting performance.
·  New Product Introduction Phase;
·  Working with the program and manufacturing teams, ensure new Storage products and devices are defined, setup and validated during the NPI process.
·  Ensure all NPI GPE deliverables are met on time to support the program schedule and quality goals
·  Working closely with R&D partners to drive DFx improvements based on feedback from prior generation products and supply chain partners.
·  Actively work with R&D partner groups on architectural improvements that will improve supply chains ability to deliver new Storage products and devices
·  Working closely with mfg test partners, define test requirements that deliver an efficient test process with the appropriate amount of test coverage to meet the desired quality goals
·  Drive innovation and integration of new technologies into projects and activities in the Storage team
·  Collaborates and communicates with management, internal teams, contract manufactures on supply chain status, project progress, and issue resolution.
·  Leads or participates in a project team of other engineers and internal and outsourced development partners to ensure delivery of reliable, cost effective and high quality solutions for Storage products.
·  Provides guidance and mentoring to less-experienced staff members.
·  Develops expertise and practical knowledge of applications within business environment.

Education and Experience Required:

· 
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.  Will consider similar engineering related degrees.

•Typically 6-10 years experience.

Knowledge and Skills:

· 
Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.

· 
Excellent written and verbal communication skills; mastery in English. Preferred Spanish as 2nd language.  Ability to effectively communicate product quality status, deliver management communications, proposals.

· 
Ability to understand product architectures, design proposals and negotiate options to ensure the best outcome for supply chain 

· 
 Using appropriate engineering tools troubleshoot system hardware, firmware, components and solutions.

· 
Familiarity with storage/computer architecture and diagnostic tools.

· 
Familiarity with manufacturing of electronic systems/assemblies/components.

· 
Quality data analysis.
