Description

As part of a team of talented manufacturing engineers, you'll design, develop and improve power products, processes and components; evolving designs to improve quality, cost and reliability. To do so, you'll work in partnership with other functional areas, suppliers and contract manufacturers, ensuring that everyone is on board with project objectives and can deliver on time. Your fresh perspectives and innovative ideas will facilitate the embodiment of these solutions into new power architectures. Responsibilities

·  Define Power System requirements for the Server inclusive of power supply and VRDs.
·  Develop system related power distribution and power supply test plan, test procedures, test fixtures design and specifications.
·  Engage the System level power supply verification.
·  Power DC-DC architectures definition for server/storage CPU/GPU/DDR and peripherals multi-phase/single phase DC-DC voltage regulators
·  Work with ODMs to finalize test plans and deliverables and track these for on time delivery.
·  Interface with ODMs and review their test data. Provide feedback on validity of the data.
·  Analyze failures, provide solutions, and work with ODMs, Suppliers and System teams for implementing solutions.
·  Testing and qualifying alternate components.
·  Support in maintaining supplier's product integrity.
·  Assist System engineers in de-bugging power system related issues. Application engineering solutions for electrical and electronic parts, subsystems, integrated circuitry, and algorithms based on established engineering principles and in accordance with development technology practices and guidelines.
·  Qualify and verify hardware and firmware used in power supplies and integration into host system. Participates as a member of project team(s) with other firmware engineers, hardware engineers and HPE partners to develop reliable, cost effective, and high quality power solutions.
·  Conducts feasibility studies, design margin and validation analyses and empirical testing on new and modified designs.
·  Evaluates reliability of materials, processes, designs, and techniques used in production.  
·  Support power supply vendors in meeting product specifications.
·  Support in maintaining supplier's power product quality.

Qualifications

Education

·  Bachelor's (undergraduate)degree, Master's (graduate)degree, or Ph.D. (post-graduate) degree in Electrical Engineering discipline or equivalent experience

Knowledge and Skills

·  Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in Server system engineering
·  Strong hands-on work skills
·  Experience and/or familiarity with lab equipment including oscilloscopes, current/voltage probes, power meters, data loggers, AC/DC sources, electronic loads, power supplies, soldering/de-soldering, and mechanical tools
·  Understanding of power supply topologies, architecture knowledge, and power supply design capability. Experience in both digital power firmware (with TI, Infineon, MCHP, Freescale, STM… DSPs) and power stage hardware (PFC, FBPS, TTIF, LLC) design
·  Using electrical design tools and software packages. Intel VRTT tool, AMD SDLE tool
·  Knowledge of Intel and AMD VR designs in industrial Server, Storage server
·  Proven analytical and problem solving skills.
·  Ability to lead projects and people
·  Ability to work independently, and on a project team
·  Ability to understand business impact of technical decisions.
·  Ability to formulate ideas, theories and analysis with clear organization.
·  Ability to effectively communicate product architectures, design proposals and negotiate options at the engineering levels.
·  Good at review and analysis of design documents (Schematics, PCB Layout, Mechanical drawings, Bill of Material , Test reports, etc)
·  Familiar with international safety and EMC requirements.
·  Experience in Magnetic circuit design/analysis and power semiconductors analysis
·  Excellent verbal and written communication skills; mastery local language and English.  Interworking with multinational functional groups, mostly Asia.
·  Effectively manages multiple projects simultaneously across businesses
·  Ability to coordinate the work of others against requirements of schedule and quality
·  Broad to advanced technical and business knowledge
·  Generates new and innovative solutions to complex problems
·  Exchanges and clarifies complex, sensitive and technical information
·  Ability to design, develop and improve products, processes and components
·  Acts as technical expert regarding technical trends, quality, reliability, manufacturability, supply chain requirements, competition and cost tradeoffs relating to product/process design and development
·  Experience in high tech manufacturing and project management with ability to negotiates with internal and external contacts
·  Commitment and self-motivation.Working knowledge of software applications like MS Word, MS Excel, MS Power Point, MS Project etc.
