Agile Coach Job Description

Expectations of Candidate

The Agile Coach will act as a change agent in the organization using knowledge & experience of Lean & Agile practices to ensure organizational alignment, consistency and scalability. This role is a catalyst for nurturing cultural change and an environment that fosters transparency, value delivery, quality, and innovation. This role is key to enabling people to understand, behave and become in an agile way to ultimately increase customer and business value.

Responsibilities

Experienced trainer with a motivating style:

·  Able to teach Agile, Scrum & Kanban

·  Learn & understand the HPE culture, collaborating with stakeholders to address any potential weaknesses

·  Help instill an Agile mindset throughout the organization

·  Able to effectively facilitate meetings & workshops for a variety of situations while also mentoring others to do the same.

Influential coach to the organization:

·  Understand & Coach the organization in appropriate use of Agility at the team level & at scale.

·  Identify organizational impediments to Agile adoption and work with the leadership team overcome them.

·  Create an environment that fosters transparency, learning, innovation, quality and predictability.

·  Mentor & Coach Scrum Masters, Product Owners & Teams on the Agile mindset and appropriate use of Agile practices.

·  Mentor & Coach the leadership team on the impact of Agile transformation on their role.

·  Foster continuous improvement through a transparent organization.

·  Seek to understand a situation and its history and take a nonjudgmental approach when engaging.

Trusted advisor for a maturing Agile organization:

·  Collaborate with and influence all levels of the organization to empower and enable teams to execute. 

·  Be the catalyst for change and recruit likeminded team members to assist the transformation.

·  Influence a culture that learns & adapts quickly to lead the market.

Education

Has attained agile certifications, such as:

·  Scrum Master (CSM)

·  Product Owner (CPO)

·  Some advanced qualification (CSP, CAL, PSM II or PSM III for example)

·  Certification in at least one Scaled framework (SAFe, Less, Scrum @ Scale, DAD)

Experience

·  Bachelors degree

·  Minimum 2 years as a Scrum Master or Product Owner

·  Coached a minimum of 2 companies through a transition to Agile

Required Skills

·  Excellent communication & facilitating skills, including:

·  Facilitating Agile teams

·  Facilitating meetings, workshops, discussion to help Agile adoption

·  Create training material specifically for the situation

·  Influence without authority & lead by example

·  Is able to provide objective guidance, without personal or political considerations through catalyst conversations

·  Has experience in implementing agile techniques in different cultures and environments

·  Knowledge & experience of scaling frameworks.

Desired Skills

·  Experience with a number of different collaboration tools

·  Experience Agile Life-cycle Management (ALM) tools

·  Experience with geographically distributed teams
