About the Position

This position is responsible for development of projects with moderate complexity or working on complex projects in cooperation with more experienced personnel. The incumbent seeks solutions to technical problems, conducts work on assigned tasks, and exhibits an entry type level of knowledge.

 

Primary Responsibilities

·  Lead implementation of new technology within current department
·  Contribute to manufacture of quality products and processes
·  Develop and define project goals to meet specific business needs
·  Translate product needs to experimental data or design parameters.
·  Work with teams and product groups to bring technology to market

 

Required Education and Experience

·  Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field
·  Master’s degree or higher education optional/preferred
·  Meet or exceed Job Level Matrix requirements for job level Engineer E05

 

Skills and Abilities

·  Practical understanding of science and technology in the appropriate discipline
·  Proficiency in statistical design and analysis; cause and effect analysis and risk analysis
·  Ability to carry out assignments in a logical fashion using existing technology and standardized method
·  Basic organization, communication, and experimentation skills
·  Good knowledge of structural mechanics/dynamics and/or Finite Element Analysis, especially nonlinear FEA
·  Working knowledge of 3D CAD (Solidworks, CATIA V5, etc.) software and their applications is preferred
·  Basic applied statistics, Design of Experiments and multi-regression modeling, cause-and-effect analysis; risk analysis; lean principles
·  Develops clear and concise technical reports summarizing highlights and making recommendations for logical next steps
·  Ability to form strong working relationships with Goodyear associates (Global & Cross Functional) and customers
