Role Summary/Purpose
GE Aviation, Engine Services - Singapore has established an Automation and Robotics Centre of Excellence (COE) to develop automation and robotics solutions. The Robotics Engineer will play a critical role in the COE developing, building and implementing robotic and automation systems that are capable of performing visual or dimensional inspection, polishing, grinding, spraying, or welding etc for repairing aircraft engine components.
Essential Responsibilities
Work with end-users to develop specifications for proposed robotic or automated systems.
Write and troubleshoot robotic and PLC programming
Design robotic or automated systems to meet business needs, including selection of components and sub-systems
Fabricate, test and install robotic systems in GE Aviation facilities
Work with external vendors and system integrators as required
Ensure that automated systems developed by the COE meet applicable safety and regulatory standards
Conduct research on material removers, vision and sensor systems, adaptive machining and other technologies
Qualifications/Requirements
Bachelor's or higher degree in Engineering or related discipline
Diploma holders with proven track record may also be considered
At least 3 years experience in development of robotics (Fanuc/ABB) or automated systems in production shop floor environment.
Familiar with HMI & PLC programming
In-depth knowledge of mechanical/Electrical design or vision systems would be a plus.
Prepared to be hands-on and work along with Engineers and Technicians
Strong management and communication skills
