Role Summary/Purpose

GE Additive is seeking a driven and talented individual to serve as a Laser Field Service Engineer supporting customer requirements as it relates to installation, maintenance and service of metallic additive systems on customers' site / property. These activities contribute to, maintain, repair and refurbish sold or existing products.
Essential Responsibilities

In the role of Laser Field Service Engineer, you will:

·  Act as the single point of contact to the customer for timely and satisfactory resolution of concerns covering a wide variety of support services offered for Laser systems in your assigned region or coverage area

This will include:

·  phone & email support

·  onsite visits for installation

·  basic onsite training

·  PM

·  calibrations

·  and emergency service

·  Be responsible for knowledge of assigned region, coverage area, or product lines, their associated configuration installations, and represents the most direct access to all appropriate internal functions to support the customer

·  Be a major contributor to the development of an operational year plan for own department activities of the team

·  Suggest improvements in products, processes and procedures

·  Work together with people from the business unit

·  Work on the basis of predefined contracts and frameworks

·  Document service requirements according to specifications

·  Provide customer support in the application of our 3D metal printing systems

Qualifications/Requirements

Basic Qualifications

·  Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college {Or an Associate's Degree (2 year Technical degree) from an accredited school or institution with a minimum of 2 years of experience in Services; OR a high school diploma / GED with a minimum of 4 years of experience in Services or 4 years of relevant Military experience}

Eligibility Requirements

·  Ability and willingness to travel domestically and internationally ~50% of the time

·  Possesses a Passport or the ability to obtain a passport for international travel as needed

Desired Characteristics

·  Background in service on / with mechanical, vacuum, electrical, and electronic systems

·  Experienced with AM, preferably in AM service

·  Field service experience in industrial 3D printing industry or similar industry, such as: semi- conductor industry, healthcare industry, electrical / mechanical / machinery industry

·  Enjoys solving complex technical problems

·  Enjoys a challenge

·  Good student - Enjoys learning

·  Team player - Ability to work cooperatively within a group
