Role Summary/Purpose

The Facilities Maintenance Technician performs preventive and routine facility maintenance, setup, repairs, and inspections.
Essential Responsibilities

Key responsibilities/essential functions include (but are not limited to): 

·  Conduct routine, planned, and unscheduled maintenance on buildings and production support utility equipment including but not limited to water purification systems, HVAC / chillers, steam systems, refrigeration, compressed air systems, etc. 
·  Perform daily monitoring, repair and preventative maintenance activities on critical systems and facility equipment. 
·  Promote an environment of continuous improvement and innovation in line with lean thinking and Maintenance best practice
·  Required to do other maintenance work in addition to that listed, such as minor parts fabrication and equipment installations 
·  Working with others to implement injury prevention and compliance initiatives. 
·  Provide support for facility related projects, including Contractor Management. 
·  Assist in compliance inspections and EHS program implementation as requested. 
·  Assist facility in obtaining and maintaining VPP Star Status.   Quality Specific Goals:  

·  Aware of and comply with the GEHC Quality Manual, Quality Management System, Quality Management Policy, Quality Goals, and applicable laws and regulations as they apply to this job type/position 
·  Complete all planned Quality & Compliance training within the defined deadlines 
·  Identify and report any quality or compliance concerns and take immediate corrective action as required 
·  Knowledge and understanding of production process work instructions and operates within them to ensure that equipment conforms to its specifications. 
·  Ensures the creation of accurate, complete and timely records.
Qualifications/Requirements

·  High school diploma/GED or equivalent or Technical School degree or equivalent experience of 5 years in facilities maintenance in a manufacturing environment. 
·  Demonstrated verbal and written communications 
·  Basic understanding of facility support systems including electrical, heating/cooling, and
plumbing systems 

Physical Requirements: 

·  Frequently move, lift, carry, push or pull weights up to 50 lbs unassisted and occasionally lift/move weights greater than 50 lbs with assistance.  
·  Frequently climb stairs and ladders 
·  Frequently squat, stoop, kneel, crouch, turn, pivot and reach 
·  Frequently use fingers or hands to grasp, clamp, move, finger, handle and feel small objects 
·  Ability to continuously stand or walk

Desired Characteristics

·  Electrical background strongly preferred 
·  2 years experience as industrial maintenance technician 
·  Relevant working knowledge of a regulated industry and GMP.
·  Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment and influence others 
·  Ability to interface effectively with all levels of management and line personnel 
·  Experience in Occupational Safety and Health, Environmental Science, or related scientific or technical discipline
