Role Summary/Purpose

As a regional Fleet Management engineer for our PS Biz in APAC, the PS Engineer will lead all aspects of working with customers and internal Eng. teams, ensure
enhanced reliability and availability of GT fleet in APAC. Candidate will be accountable for technically de-risking and defending our fleet by providing timely tech. resolution, troubleshoot and investigate fleet issues, implement corrective actions and develop risk mitigation strategies across the PS portfolio of Gas Turbine products.
Essential Responsibilities

[1] Lead the response to internal and external customer requests for technical issue resolution, using technical product knowledge and analytical skills while adhering to sound engineering principles, standards, practices, procedures.
[2] Escalate issues as required, acting as the liaison between the field and design engineering to drive specific technical resolution and to help engineering identify, and drive corrective actions
[3] Respond to technical queries through ER cases and be available to attend on a rolling basis ER cases over weekends.
[4] Lead Root cause analysis for failures of the units or components and present the findings to internal/external customers, and drive CAPA implementation.
[5] Travel to customer locations to 1) support customer technical review meetings and present recommendations to champion GE’s commitment to achieve a World Class Running Fleet 2) support unplanned/forced outages to meet customer's availability and reliability goals, 3) provide commercial teams with technical
support for sales/services proposal activities.
[6] Plan and provide engineering technical oversight (Outage Excellence) to the Field Services Operations teams during planned and unplanned outages to meet availability goals
[7] Provide engineering leadership and technical guidance for all new unit installations in the region through Red Flag Review process during the commissioning phase as well as post outages to meet safety, quality, and timeliness goals.
[8] Draft Technical Information Letters as needed to address fleet issues and work with the PS Engineering team to review/release the same after appropriate reviews.
[9] Embrace and drive a culture of continuous quality improvement, working in a boundary-less fashion and fostering the early detection of quality issues and risks as well as promoting lean processes that drive fulfillment excellence.
[10] Candidate is expected to perform as a regional PSE with special focus on HA technology
Qualifications/Requirements

[1] Bachelor of Science or Master of Science in Engineering
[2] At least 5 additional years of experience in an engineering capacity or likewise as a field engineer or other technical roles or as Edison Engineer
[3] Experience in power plant design and upgrades, including system analysis and testing will be an added advantage
[4] Able to successfully communicate with senior executives, both verbally and in writing
[5] Ability to understand, define and communicate between component design and system performance

[7] Ability to understand and develop highly complex integrated solutions line or product strategies while still maintaining deep understanding of what makes such solutions competitively strong from a technical perspective
[8] Demonstrate ability in communicating and influencing at executive levels that have both technical and business expertise
[9] Experienced in managing across matrixed organizations to deliver results that delight internal and external customers
[10] Ability to “see around corners” and understand how to anticipate industry technical and market landscape shifts and proactively capitalize opportunities.
[11] Demonstrate result oriented attitude to deliver outstanding technical support to Power Services sales and growth
