Role Summary/Purpose
Within the GE Renewable Energy Business, the Hydro market is expected to grow in the coming years especially in the medium/small, service and digital markets. Hydro has today a global industrial footprint in Europe, China, India, North-America and Latin America, and we are looking to reinforce the Balance of Plant (BoP) capability within our Engineering team in Birr.
Essential Responsibilities
· Basic and detail design of mechanical BoP components and equipment (e.g. Water Cooling System, Drainage; Piping; auxiliary system, etc.)
· Basic and detailed design of plant arrangement (e.g. equipment implementation layout, interface with the Civil work, etc.)
· Prepare technical specification
· Optimize technical solutions
· Organize and attend factory acceptance tests (FAT)
· Technically evaluate potential suppliers and their offers
· Participate in clarification meetings with customers
· Support site team
Qualifications/Requirements
· University degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent knowledge or experience
· Know-how on BoP apparatus and power plant layout
· Experience in power plant business
· Fluent in English. German or French highly desirable
· Good analytical and communication skills
· Team player
