Role Summary/Purpose

Unison Industries, a wholly owned subsidiary of GE Aviation, is a world leader in the design and manufacture of electrical components, sensors and systems for aircraft, industrial, marine, military and space. Unison’s products span the globe and can be found on almost anything flying from two place trainer airplanes to giant 747’s and rockets traveling to space. We presently have an opening for a Bellows Fabricator 1 on 1st Shift, working from 7:00AM- 3:30PM.
Essential Responsibilities

·  Produce & verify that piece parts are acceptable and produced within print & specifications
·  Set up and operate Hydroformer horizontal forming machine on any processed work
·  Operate vertical Hydroformer machine on any processed work 
·  Corrugate shells to form bellows. This includes cutting, deburring, bumping, sizing and annealing tube. Includes horizontal/vertical hydroformer corrugation, trimming, sanding, collapsing, spacing, rolling, verifying spring rate & cleaning of tube
·  Develop skills to operate lathes, optical comparator, hydroformers, hydraulic press, bead blaster, flow tester, proof pressure tester, hydrogen furnace, etc. 
·  Compliantly complete all written and /or electronic labor tracking documentation 
·  Perform visual inspection of parts subsequent to assembly steps; Operate optical comparator
·  Verify and change tools when necessary 
·  Perform mechanical inspection to verify in process parts for conformance to print & specification using standard measuring equipment. 
·  Utilize proper PPE, safety equipment, and follow safety procedures 
·  Cross-train with other employees as needed based upon knowledge and experience
·  Compliantly complete all written and/or electronic labor tracking documentation
·  Perform basic Oracle transactions as required
·  Report problems to appropriate resource and/or Coach
·  Keep all shift operators informed on special problems involving operation or set up 
·  Communicate with team to ensure all team members are aware of new processes and/or issues. May interact with internal cross-functional teams (i.e. – planning) 
·  Participate in and support team initiatives
·  This role is restricted to U.S. persons (i.e., U.S. citizens, permanent residents, and other protected individuals under the Immigration and Naturalization Act, 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)) due to access to export-controlled technology. GE will require proof of status prior to employment.

Qualifications/Requirements

·  High School Education or GED
·  1 year manufacturing experience 
Eligibility Requirements: 

·  This role is restricted to U.S. persons (i.e., U.S. citizens, permanent residents, and other protected individuals under the Immigration and Naturalization Act, 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)) due to access to export-controlled technology. GE will require proof of status prior to employment. 
·  Basic understanding of blueprint and process sheet interpretation 
·  Ability and willingness to use basic hand tools (micrometers, measuring tape, calipers, etc.) 
·  Basic understanding of mathematical principles, may have to do conversions to decimal system
Desired Characteristics

·  1-3 years manufacturing experience 
·  Assembly and/or electronics manufacturing experience
·  Experience in a self-directed teaming environment 
·  Familiarity with 5S & lean manufacturing knowledge
