Role Summary/Purpose

The Application Engineer is the interface of the Engineering department during the inquiry-to-order (ITO) phase within Commercial teams and Customer. AE’s main contact partners are the commercial team, the customer, sourcing and the project engineers. Target for AE is achieved when the customer signs the contract, and then AE will hand-over the project to the project engineers who will take care of the execution.
Essential Responsibilities

The Application Engineer creates technical scopes of supply and schedules for wind turbine proposals to customers. The Application Engineer works with the commercial team, engineering, sourcing and manufacturing to scope custom changes and additional customer specific features (Design to Order “DTO”) including cost and schedule. An important part of the job is to perform a risk assessment for each opportunity.

·  The Application Engineer is responsible for the technical analysis of each Opportunity in the Inquiry to Order phase including Risk assessment, Product configuration and Additional Scope requested by Customer and/or CommOpps team
·  AE is responsible to build technical response/offer in accordance to whole Engineering Org. to fulfill with Opps requirements and to schedule resources to execute them
·  AE is responsible for recording for each Opportunity scope and schedule for wind turbine proposals as well as DTO’s
·  Actively communicates all contract and project requirements to Engineering functions, utilizing internal documentation systems and ensures that the quoted turbine configurations comply with the customer requirements
·  Ensures timely support for responses to technical internal and external customer queries with local and global engineering colleagues
·  Identifies and schedules resources for execution and creates configurations in the PLM system for wind turbines
·  When the Contract is awarded the AE is handing over all details of tech scope to Requisition team to be executed
Qualifications/Requirements

·  BS in an Engineering discipline or equivalent (eg. Mechanical, Electrical or Civil Engineering) or equivalent
knowledge or work experience
·  Project Management and commercial mind-set
- Well organized, stress-resistant, strong ability to prioritize
·  Experience with PLM tools and/or ERP/MRP tools
·  EU Work Permit
·  Experience in time management/scheduling
·  Good interpersonal communication skills, self-starter
·  Willingness to travel occasionally
·  Fluent in English and Spanish (and German or other languages are to be considered)
·  Proficiency in MS Office

If contracted in Spain:

Non-national candidates are responsible to know the minimum documentation requirements to be able to be contracted in country: NIE- Social Security Affiliation Number in Spain (NAF) and Bank Account in Spain. They must be in possession of them at the time of start hiring. GE will not sponsor this requirement.
