Our Faurecia Interiors System Business Group – North America Operations Division is looking for a VIE Project Engineer m/f for its site in Sunnyvale (California), USA.

The role of a Project Engineer is to Formulate, recommend, and implement as phases of a project to complete it within budget and to meet customer determined project milestones and completion target dates.
The main missions of the role are :
Produce designs that are feasible and economical to produce in the manufacturing facilities and processes available.
Provide alternative design solutions, analyses, justifications and recommendations at the concept stage, facilitates selection of designs that achieve best possible trade-off of cost, timing, innovation, and performance.
Contribute to manufacturing performance and customer service by assisting in the solution of production or quality problems associates with the design.
Propose and implements Value Analysis solutions.
Ensure that all appropriate tests are performed.
Ensure that product designs meet customer requirements, through direct consultation with customer technical personnel to determine their needs and wants.
Provide information about needs, wants and developments affecting company products and plans by maintaining regular, direct contact with customer technical personnel.
Assist in achievement of sales’ targets through direct participation in customer presentation.
Produce specifications and Request for Quotation’s as required.
Other duties and special projects assigned.

The ideal candidate will have/be:
Master’s degree in Engineering
Previous experience in a similar position.
Knowledge of automotive development tools such as DFTLEA, DFA/DFM, DOE, T&R plan and procedures preferred.
Good understanding of Finite Element Analysis principles.
Good oral and written communication and presentation skills.
Good interpersonal skills.
Good understanding of industry-specific manufacturing processes.
General knowledge of manufacturing machinery in terms of design, control and application.
Ability to read and understand plant and machinery drawings and schematics including electrical, mechanical, structural, process, utility, etc.
Understanding of, customer requirements and government regulations.
