We believe that by managing our clients’ tax obligations responsibly and proactively we can make a critical difference, and you’ll be at the heart of this mission.

The opportunity

Cost Segregation Services assists companies with analyzing the costs incurred to build or acquire building property, and segregating the costs into the appropriate depreciable class life.  We use engineering and architectural costing techniques to identify assets that should be depreciated as separate tangible personal property rather than considered part of the longer-lived building property.  This results in significant tax benefits for our clients with a material investment in building property.

Your key responsibilities

We are currently seeking a highly motivated individual to join our Cost Segregation Services practice. The ideal candidate will have experience in performing cost segregation studies, advising clients on fixed asset costs, classifications and policy, preparing submissions for the amortization of pollution controlled facilities, assisting on the adoption and implementation of the Tangible Property Regulations.

Skills and attributes for success
·  Researching relevant tax authorities and prepare engagement documentation
·  Translating complex data from a range of sources into client-ready insights and deliverables
·  Building effective long-term relationships with our clients, understanding their unique needs to provide a tailored service
·  Communicating complex tax issues to non-tax professionals and clients
·  Maintaining your reputation in your field by constantly updating and sharing your technical and finest practice knowledge
·  Identifying and reacting to risks and opportunities to improve our services and processes
To qualify for the role you must have
·  A bachelor's degree in a related field, supported by significant cost segregation experience
·  A CPA certification or membership in The Bar
·  Minimum of 3 years of work experience in professional services or professional tax organization
·  Proficient in reading blueprints, estimating costs of construction, and experience using cost-estimating manuals.
·  Excellent collaboration and negotiation skills, and the confidence to challenge senior colleagues and stakeholders from a diverse range of backgrounds
·  Proven experience in performing certified pollution control facility analyses including the submission to the certifying agency
Ideally, you’ll also have
·  A proven record in a professional services environment
·  Experience in coaching and mentoring junior colleagues
·  Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
·  The ability to adapt your work style to work with both internal and client team members
