Independence Assistant Director/Manager (m/f)

We are looking for our new colleague who will be part of our Risk Management Team

 

The opportunity

 

Our Risk Management team enables responsible growth through close collaboration with the business to protect EY from the risks that arise from its professional practice. The team works with the business to identify, monitor and manage the firm’s risk, providing coordinated advice and assistance on independence, legal, compliance, regulatory and policy issues. 

 

The Independence function of our team is responsible for ensuring we maintain compliance with auditor independence rules and regulations imposed by external regulators, as well as EY Independence and related rules applicable to all EY member firms. This includes ensuring that new audit clients and engagements can be accepted by the firm and do not result in an ethical, legal or regulatory conflict.

 

Your day to day responsibilities will be varied and cover a broad spectrum of independence activities, including the following:

·  Providing technical advice to the business on a variety of independence subjects, which may include audit tenders, non-audit services, business relationships, personal independence, business operations and other matters
·  Overseeing and monitoring our independence systems, processes and procedures ensuring that we are meeting our requirements delivering quality services at the highest levels
·  Supporting the Independence Director withcompliance and control activities,and with inspections from external regulators
·  Maintaining independence tools and databases

Skills and attributes for success

 

To qualify for the role, you must have

 

·  You hold a university degree in Economics, Business Administration, Finance or similar.
·  You have a working knowledge of firm independence policies and regulators’ rules.
·  You have a strong understanding and knowledge of the activities and services offered by an Audit or Advisory firm.
·  You are clearly client-oriented and committed to high quality delivery.
·  You have proven exceptional interpersonal skills to deliver tough messages to executive leaders and handle challenging situations.
·  You are proactive and capable of working autonomously.
·  You are fluent in English. Additional language skills such as French, German or Luxembourgish will be considered as an asset.
