What to expect

At EY we solve big, complex issues. As a Quantitative Consulting Services professional, you will provide quantitative and qualitative consulting services based on applied economics and statistics. The team services a variety of clients, including assisting in analysis that shapes business decisions at the largest financial institutions. The group is typically engaged in projects relating to credit modelling (e.g., probability of default, cash flow analysis, expected loss, exposure at default) or statistical testing of compliance with banking laws and regulations. The learning opportunities provided through a diverse set of projects are complemented by a dynamic work environment and on-the-job training.

 

As part of the Financial Services Organization (FSO), you will focus exclusively in financial services and will have opportunities to serve leading investment banks, retail and commercial banks, insurers, and investment managers. Throughout your experiences you’ll build fundamental consulting skills that will provide the foundation for a long career.

 

As a Staff in our Quantitative Consulting Services track, you will be a part of our Consultant Development Program. You'll be provided learning opportunities, technical competency training, and coaching to develop core consulting skills. 

Your key responsibilities may include:
· 
Growing lasting relationships with our clients, understanding their needs and consistently delivering quality client services

·  Summarizing data using SAS and Excel
·  Designing and reviewing models in SAS or other programming language
·  Applying econometric methodologies to measure compliance with existing regulations
·  Assisting clients with reviews of regulatory risks
·  Documenting analysis processes
· 
Strong focus on building a reputation as an authoritative expert in your area by constantly updating your understanding of current business and industry trends

· 
Taking full responsibility for tasks including consistent self-review of work to identify and improve an approach for producing high quality work products, while working under supervision

 
To qualify for the role you must have :
·  A bachelor’s or master’s degree in econometrics, mathematics, statistics, quantitative finance and/or other analytical disciplines
· 
Strong academic record, including, without limitation, course work that EY deems relevant to this position

· 
Desire to work in consulting demonstrated by relevant course work, interest or internship experience

· 
Computer skills, including familiarity with statistical programming software and database management (SAS experience preferred)

· 
Familiarity with regression techniques

· 
Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills

· 
Proficiency with MS Office, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, and Outlook

· 
The flexibility and willingness to travel as well as work in excess of standard hours when necessary

· 
The understanding that travel is an essential function of the job and is estimated at 50%

· 
Willingness and ability to learn and work independently with minimal supervision

· 
Demonstrated project management, teaming, organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills

· 
Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills

· 
Effective organization and time management skills with the ability to work under pressure and adhere to project deadlines

· 
Integrity within a professional environment

· 
A driver’s license valid in the U.S.
