Required Experience, Competencies and pre-requisites (Mandatory)
There is a requirement for a payments SME for supporting the onboarding of participants and fund holding institutions to the Buna RTGS platform
· Between 10 to 15 years of Experience in the finance industry at large
· Experience in the implementation of payment systems
· Experience in client facing roles
· Understanding of automated clearing systems and real-time settlement systems
· Understanding of instant payments processing
· Previous experience at the intersection of banking and Technology
· Excellent understanding of international standards such as ISO15022 and ISO20022
· Experience with Core Banking Systems (for example: T24, Finastra)
· Experience in RTGS, Instant Payment and Trade Finance solution is a strong Plus
· Understanding of account-to-account payment flows and use cases
· Excellent English written and verbal communication skills
· Experience at working in a complex multi-vendor environment
· Must be based in UAE or willing to relocate to the UAE (Abu Dhabi or Dubai)
· Comfortable being present at client location for long periods of time
· Master Degree in Management, Economics, Finance, Computer Science or Engineering
Desirable Experience
· Arabic language skills would be a plus
· Experience in RTGS, Instant Payment and Trade Finance solution is a strong Plus
· Previous experience of working in the UAE, or GCC banking sector and payment systems solutions
· Experience with Anti Money Laundering Solution and Disputes process
· Understanding of the MEA and GCC central banks regulations
Responsibilities
This role will be part of a team that is responsible for engaging with multiple participating banks and fund holding institutions (typically central banks) which are joining the new Buna regional real-time gross settlement system
· Providing subject matter expertise on payments from a business and technical perspective
· Interacting with Banking business and IT representatives
· Create structured collateral: use case, process flow, message structure description etc. to ensure member banks understand the payments ecosystem they are onboarding onto
· Support test teams and project managers with subject matter expertise
· Provide feedback to improve business rules, application flows and operational processes
· Lead and drive meetings with multiple stakeholders including client representatives, third parties, management representatives and technical SMEs
· Supporting partner integration testing: Identifying root causes of issues and working with application and payments experts to resolve them
· Able to confront issues openly and quickly
