Job Title: VAT Junior Manager

Location: Chiswick Park or Trowbridge (can also be based at home with occassional presence in either of these office sites)

About You:

You will be a curious and engaging individual, with experience across UK and Irish VAT matters. This role will have interaction with a variety of stakeholders with different needs, therefore you must be driven to collaborate and business partner with close proximity.

To be considered for this role, you will have

·  Qualification by experience (ACA/CTA/ATT or other relevant qualification)
·  Experience using financial reporting systems, with proficiency in Microsoft Excel
·  Proven knowledge of current and upcoming VAT legislation
·  Governance and compliance mindset
·  Strong resilience with the ability to take ownership, be self-motivated and drive things forward

This Role Offers:

This role offers scope to create and define the position and promote the tax function:

·  Compliance for indirect taxes; including the preparation and submission of VAT, EC Sales Lists and Intrastat reports for UK and Irish entities
·  Manage external queries from HMRC and Revenue of Commissioners in relation to indirect taxes
·  Advise and provide operational guidance on indirect tax implications for new/amended business activity, changes to supply chains, product developments/services/operations, liaising closely with various teams across the business, ensuring indirect tax risk is managed appropriately
·  Review commercial contracts to ascertain opportunities and ensure indirect tax compliance, considering tax clauses and risks
·  Monitor new legislation, case law and tax policy developments and impact on the business
·  Monitoring and maintaining the tax control risk framework in respect of indirect taxes
·  Train the business and implement policies and procedures to support compliance with legal obligations and mitigation of indirect tax risks
·  Identify areas requiring training and improvement. Create the course material to be able to deliver training sessions to the business to improve general VAT understanding
·  Lead and drive forward process efficiency, automation and continuous improvement
·  Cross-functional business partnership with teams such as Finance, AP, AR, Treasury and Financial Control on a day to day basis to ensure the tax returns are compliant and training on VAT is provided
·  The role will need to liaise with and manage the interaction with external advisors and the tax authorities.
