A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a student to join our Medical Affairs team for a 10 month placement. The role is based at our head office in Trowbridge, Wiltshire.

Overall Purpose of the role.

Support the medical activities for the adult medical services team in line with the category vision.

Key Responsibilities

To help deliver the medical affairs service to internal and external customers including, focusing on adult disease related malnutrition. Key job roles include:

·  Create and update key commercial documents to support the business e.g. competitor product comparisons, product compendiums, internal product Q&A documents, competitor Q&A documents and objection handlers
·  Assist with literature searches and enquiry required to launch successful marketing and sales campaigns
·  Work closely with the Resource Centre to provide first line escalation for external or internal queries and support efficient ways of working with this team
·  Manage longterm projects e.g. ongoing maintenance and development of the medical nutrition product database
·  Maintain an up to date awareness and knowledge of the wider medical nutrition environment including new product launches, research publications and events and create a monthly/bimonthly update report for internal dissemination
·  Review and approval of marketing/sales materials
·  Attendance and valuable contribution to category team meetings
·  Opportunity to attend and support external events e.g. annual Nutrition Support Symposium
·  Opportunity to help with delivering internal & external presentations eg nutrition training to sales colleagues during induction programme, uni seminars

Main Challenges

·  To develop own knowledge and understanding of disease related malnutrition and the use of medical nutrition in specific patient groups (training provided, on the job learning and self-directed study required)
·  Develop expertise in Nutricia products (oral nutritional supplements and tube feeds) and balance the clinical and commercial needs of the category
·  To manage the requirements, priorities and deadlines of the role whilst collaboration with colleagues from different functions e.g. medical affairs, marketing, sales
·  To manage priorities of day to day role

Job Holder Skills & Experience Required

·  Good knowledge of human nutrition & interest in medical nutrition & malnutrition
·  Attention to detail
·  Competent IT skills
·  Initiative and self-motivation
·  Good written & verbal communication skills
·  Team player
·  Commercially aware
·  Positive attitude & adaptive under pressure
·  Ability to learn quickly & learn from experiences & feedback
·  Abiliy to consider different options and problem solve

Desirable

·  Customer Service experience
·  Ability to blend commercial needs of the business with sound scientific information and appropriate advice
·  Experience or insights of elderly care or clinical setting e.g. hospital or residential/nursing home
·  Experience of dietary analysis software
·  Confident group presentation skills
