With 90,000 people on the five continents, SUEZ is a world leader in smart and sustainable resource management. We provide water and waste management solutions that enable cities and industries optimize their resource management and strengthen their environmental and economic performances.

What will you be doing?
The Innovation Engineer is the main contributor to a key innovation project for SUEZ called: ”Virtual Network: Digital Twin”. The main objective of this project is to build a showcase within an operational environment (Macao Network) to demonstrate the value of the hydraulic solver as digital twin of the network, and to evaluate the feasibility/scalability of generalization of the solution.

3 main questions will need to be answered by the project through the work of the Innovation Engineer:

1.What is the level of accuracy/reliability of the models that is necessary for building the trust in them and make them suitable for an operational use?

2.What is the minimal level of skills needed to make good use of the models in an operational environment? What should be the operational organization in case of implementation of such tool?

3.What are the applications that would have the most value for operators? How hard would they be to implement?

To answer them, Suez has decided to allocate a full-time Innovation Engineer within a Business Unit, supervised both by the BU operational manager (on-site) and the Technical Center from SUEZ Innovation Division (in Paris), with the support of hydraulic modelling experts of the Group. The showcase will be demonstrated within a smart zone equipped with smart metering and pressure sensors.

The Innovation Engineer will be responsible for delivering the project, with the support of the local and central Teams and Experts. In particular, his tasks will be:

- To design and commission a “smart zone” within the Macao Network
- To build and calibrate a hydraulic model of the smart zone destined to become the Digital Twin of the network
- To integrate this Digital Twin with the operational IT systems and datasets
- To troubleshoot the Digital Twin functioning
- To perform analysis and tests to evaluate the scalability and value of such solution and answer the research questions listed beside
