Position Description

This opportunity will challenge the development and enhancement of their technical skills; further develop their analysis, leadership and interpersonal skills with a focus on innovation and continuous improvement initiatives; and will gain experience with industry leading methodologies for application support, systems development and quality assurance, including ISO9000, ITIL, CMMI and others). Your future duties and responsibilities
• Conducting GIS applications & solutions design
• Conducting/facilitating user needs analysis/business requirements gathering workshops and performing enterprise solution visioning & white boarding activities
• Leading and/or assisting in the preparation of documentation such project scoping documents, high-level road map documents, recommendation reports, data governance strategies, detailed design documents and technical specifications
• Participating in activities such as application demonstration, technical review, prototype development and solution configuration/development
• Providing technical expertise in configuration, development and implementation of the client solutions.
• Conducting and participating in regular communications with clients, peers and project team members to manager expectations, communicate project progress and ensure project success
• Contributing in the development of project plans/activity lists/scopes of work for assigned projects
• Proactively pursue self-instruction on all relevant technical topics Required qualifications to be successful in this role
• Diploma or degree in geographic information systems or computer science, or in relate field, such as geography or urban planning and three years (gained within the last five years) of related GIS experience
• Experience as a GIS Architect with solid experience working with ESRI ArcGIS
• 10+ years of general IT and GIS experience
• 5+ years of experience providing expert advice in defining new requirements and opportunities for applying effective and efficient GIS solutions
• 5+ years of experience analyzing and evaluating alternative technology solutions to meet business problems
• 5+ years of experience developing GIS Solutions architecture, frameworks and strategies
• 5+ years of experience evaluating existing procedures and methods, identifying and documenting database content, structure, and application sub-systems, and developing data dictionaries
• 3+ years of experience using UML and modeling tools, MS Project and MS Office

• Experience in client/server/online applications
