Business Analyst - Scrum Master

Position Description
CGI is seeking a Business Analyst with some experience as a Scrum Master to join our team in Pittsburgh, PA. This is an exciting opportunity to drive a talented and dynamic team in creating world class, innovative software that changes lives through extreme productivity. This role will work across multiple teams developing exciting new software for the banking and investment industry.

We are seeking a business analyst who has some familiarity of executing the Scrum Master role in an agile software development team using Scrum. This role would be an excellent opportunity for a business analyst who would like to grow into a scrum master role. The best candidate for this role will have experience working with software development teams creating end user applications. The ability to communicate with software developers as well as business users of the software is key. A background that includes writing some code is preferred but not absolutely necessary.

Your future duties and responsibilities
The responsibility of this role will include reviewing, analyzing and evaluating business systems and user needs then creating and building out user stories to be presented to stakeholders and developers for the purpose of discussion, sizing, and implementation. A key requirement of this role will be the ability to deeply understand the usage of the software to drive feature development, and consult with customers through demonstrating software to receive feedback and turn that feedback into additional instructions with which to lead the development team.

• Writing user stories
• Leading story grooming sessions
• Receiving feedback through demonstrations and conversations
• Leading meetings and planning sessions
• Demonstrating software
• Collaborating with others at all levels to gather requirements
• Collaborating with others to facilitate problem solving through consulting and leadership
• Populating regulatory and release documents
• Participating in software releases.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role
4+ years of experience including:

• User Story writing
• Meeting and small workshop facilitation. Grooming session leadership
• Demonstrating software
• Experience thinking independently, and making progress efficiently.
• Experience communicating with others of all levels
• Familiar with the software development lifecycle
• Experience learning workflows and other concepts quickly.
• Familiar with browser-based software
• Experience leading collaboration sessions to build requirements and user stories.

Desired Skills:
• Writing test cases
• Scrum Master execution
• DB queries
• GIT or other source code control

Education: BS in Computer Science, Software Engineering, related IT field or equivalent combination of experience and education
