Big Data Developer

Position Description
CGI has an an immediate opening in Cleveland OH for an experienced BIG Data Developer with 6+ years of experience.

• Experience with Leading Development Teams and Driving Delivery
• Multiple Hadoop Platform implementations
• Big Data Development using Hadoop Echo system including Pig, Hive and other Cloudera tools
• Analytical and problem solving skills, applied to a Big Data environment
• Experience with large-scale distributed applications
• Proven understanding and related experience with Hadoop, HBase, Hive, Pig, Sqoop, Flume, Kafka, Hbase and/or Map/Reduce
• Hands-on experience with related/complementary open source software platforms and languages (e.g. Java, Linux, Apache, Perl/Python/PHP, Chef, Puppet)
• Experience with agile/scrum methodologies to iterate quickly on product changes, developing user stories and working through backlog
• Prefer experience with Cloudera Hadoop distribution components and custom packages
• Banking experience preferred.
• Traditional Data Warehouse/ETL experience required
• Agile experience is required with Version One tool expertise
• At least 1+ years a hand on Java development experience is required.
• Excellent planning, organization, communication and thought leadership skills
• Coordinate with Team for project deliverables , Lead and document project status meetings
• Highly organized with good time management skills and Customer service orientation

Your future duties and responsibilities
Client Co-ordination for requirements , Development , Unit Testing , Deployment

Required qualifications to be successful in this role
• 6 + years of experience with Hadoop Echo system
• 6+ years of experience with HIVE, Sqoop, and Python
• Basic experience with Java and Linux
• 6+ years of Data Warehouse/ETL experience
• Experience with Pig, Flume, hbase, Kafka, Map/Reduce, Scala, and Spark
• Advanced Hadoop Echo system experience
• 3+ years of experience leading Development Teams and Driving Delivery
• 1 +year of experience with Version one
• 2+ years working in an Agile Execution Model

Education:
BS in Computer Science, Software Engineering, related IT field or equivalent combination of experience and education

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS/NON-ESSENTIAL SKILLS REQUIRED:
Strong planning, organization, communication and thought leadership skills
Proven time management skills and Customer service orientation
