Shipping and Receiving Specialist (2002013) – Whitehouse, Ohio

Where the Chemistry Happens…

We are seeking a professional like you to join our team.  In this role, you will be responsible for properly prepare packages for shipment by air or ground, in accordance with all applicable laws and regulations and complete associated required paperwork. Prepare records and verify receipt with packing lists of incoming materials and equipment. Responsibility for accuracy of shipping documents and verifying receipts with packing lists. Store incoming materials in properly assigned locations. Maintain adequate inventory levels of lab supplies to ensure no lab or facility function is down for lack of materials.  Assist maintenance department with routine tasks as required. •    Properly physically prepare packages for shipment in accordance with all applicable laws and regulations determined by shipping method air or ground. •    Prepare bills of lading as required for shipments and check and record all items loaded for shipment. •    Prepare Hazardous Waste Manifests, associated documents and shipments in accordance with RCRA regulations •    Check and count all items unloaded from trucks, identifying information and quantities on packing slip. Checks suppliers' count and report discrepancies to carrier and to purchasing department. •    Process shipping invoices through the BASF SAP, Cassport, ECN Shipment Tracker or other corporate systems •    Collect information for damage claims on in-transit damage. •    Handle return shipments to manufacturer for repairs. •    Store incoming materials neatly in properly assigned locations. •    Experience with WASP warehouse inventory management, FedEx “Ship Manager”, SAP, or similar programs. •    Pickup and deliver materials to and from local vendors as assigned including daily mail runs. •    Pickup and distribute materials between local BASF locations/buildings. •    Move materials on shipping dock with forklift, hand truck, drum dolly, etc. •    Load trucks using a forklift, hand truck, drum dolly, etc. •    Assist in warehouse maintenance. •    Work under minimal supervision.   •    Lead Shipping and Receiving Department and take initiative to make decisions. •    Assist maintenance department with routine tasks as assigned. •    Perform other duties and assignments as directed by management. •    Physical effort required in lifting less than pallet loads of goods to hand truck. •    Physical effort required in storing incoming materials properly.  •    Ability to lift and carry 70 pounds. •    Valid state motor vehicle operator's permit.

Basic Qualifications:

•    High School Diploma or GED •    2 years shipping and receiving experience

Preferred Qualifications:

•    Leadership skills and organizational skills. •    General knowledge of warehouse procedures. •    Proficiency in Microsoft Office software package including Word, PowerPoint and Excel is required. •    SAP experience
