Process Engineer (2002378) - Huntsville, AL

Where the Chemistry Happens…

We are looking for someone like you who will be responsible for all technical support for the Automotive Catalyst Manufacturing process. Your primary focus will be to ensure new product launches are successful in slurry preparations and coating for the Huntsville, AL production site. The PPAP (Initial Production event) requires significant focus and learnings from them will be then applied throughout production to improve productivity and quality, meeting the requirements and goals of the site.  Additional responsibilities include supporting operations in day-to-day production troubleshooting as needed. You will lead various Continuous Improvement projects at site to improve overall productivity, improve quality, and reducing scrap. 

Qualifications - BASF recognizes institutions of Higher Education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent

Formula for Success: You Will…

·   Leveraging your Bachelor's degree or higher in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or a related field and your professional experience in Process Engineering at a Chemical/Manufacturing site, you will own the New Product Launch process.  This will include lead creation of all necessary documentation for new product launches.
·  Demonstrating your robust analytical skills, you will collect and analyze various coating data. Automotive experience will be considered an asset.
·  Driving strategic decisions for the business, you will support operations on departmental Key Performance   Indicators.
·  Your dedication to continuous improvement and familiarity with quality systems required will be evident as you manage special projects related to safety, productivity, 5S, lean manufacturing, visual management.
·  Your solid problem-solving skills will be essential as you troubleshoot and support problems and opportunities in the related areas and define, structure, plan, and implement improvement projects to satisfy site, business group, and corporate objectives related to slurry preparations and coating operations. Technical knowledge of inorganic batch chemical unit operations – mixing, wet milling, slurry pumping, powder handling, drying process will be considered an asset.
·  Utilizing your strong technical skills, you will conduct production trial runs in addition to special projects related to safety, productivity, 5s, lean manufacturing, visual management.
·  Successfully engaging within the organization, you will liaise with several different departments to build strong relationships.
