Postdoc Position in Team Formulation of Chemical Systems (m/w/d)

Job description

In the Advanced Materials & Systems Research Division, our multifaceted team works together to develop functional materials and systems for high-performance, innovative and sustainable solutions for our customers in various different industries. At the same time, we meet the legal and economic requirements.

RESPONSIBILITIES

·  As a Postdoc in our unit Formulation of Chemical Systems, you will work for 12 up to 24 months to develop new formulations and formulation understanding. You will be integrated in a truly interdisciplinary and international group.
·  You will be researching natural and or/biodegradable alternatives for replacing specific formulation components by understanding their properties and interaction within formulations used, for example, in personal-, home-care or crop protection applications.
·  Another part of your work will be developing understanding of stability mechanisms and develop prediction tools for those mechanisms.
·  You will develop new ideas from academic findings and identify their practical implementation for our products.
·  You can build on your expertise with the support of expert labs of the central research hub of BASF Ludwigshafen.
·  You can experience the impact that research in our company has on the development of new products.

QUALIFICATIONS

·  You have earned a PhD in formulation, physical chemistry, colloidal chemical or interfacial chemistry, preferably in food chemistry, pharmacy, crop science, home/personal care, life science or related fields.
·  You have a deep knowledge of physical chemical properties of key ingredients in formulations and interactions between them. Knowledge in design of experiments and statistical evaluation are a benefit.
·  You are well acquainted with standard IT applications as well as excellent English language skills. German language skills are advantageous.
·  Furthermore, you have a strong interest in formulation research and be able to succeed in a result-driven environment.
·  You are also capable of working well in multicultural teams.
