Job description



Job Purpose:

At AXA head-office, acts as an expert member of the AXA Group Accounting Policy team, which is responsible for the correct application of accounting principles used for the publication of the Group financial statements under IFRS:
· Participates to the implementation of new IFRS accounting policies, in particular the new standard on insurance contracts for which the holder of the positon will work in collaboration with the IFRS17 program team
· Advisor on IFRS accounting for AXA business transactions
· Contributes in preparing AXA consolidated financial statements

In order to re-inforce IFRS Consolidated financial Statement's team, the Group Norms team is recruiting an expert manager.

Key Accountabilities:

The position includes the assistance to the Head of Group Accounting Policies, both on technical expertise and coordination aspect in the following areas:

· Tracks accounting developments and performs initial assessments, testing of related impacts to the Group (e.g. new authoritative literature and interpretations) in particular on IFRS 17
· Represents the Group in external national and international IFRS forums (CFO Forum, HUB, ANC, ACTEO, FFA), in particular in the context of the IFRS 17 project
· Takes part in the implementation process of new accounting policies (on IFRS 17 by collaborating with the IFRS 17 program team):
Definition of the accounting policies/options/guidance
Definition of the new Chart of Accounts and required additional disclosures
Trainings for entities and the management
Instructions for the dry runs and parallel run, coordination and consolidation of the results with PBRC Conso/Reporting team
· Contributes to the contents and application of the Group's Accounting Policy Manual on IFRS basis by the follow-up of:
o new standards (in particular IFRS 17) and the need to review and/or update Group's accounting policies and reporting tools
o the answers to technical accounting issues submitted by entities/poles or resulting from changes in accounting principles
o the updates and approvals from various subject experts, AXA management and Group Auditors
· Advisor on IFRS accounting for AXA business transactions (business combinations, sales of businesses, insurance and reinsurance operations, financial instruments, income taxes …) with strong interactions with other departments of the AXA head-office (Central Finance, Group Legal, GroupTax, Group Investments, Investors Relations), AXA operational entities and Group auditors
· Contributes in preparing some aspects of the AXA consolidated financial statements
· Take part to the documentation process of technical issues encountered during closings to ensure good awareness within PBRC of appropriate accounting treatment for following similar operations
· Contributes to the preparation and delivery of regular accounting trainings

To perform this role, the individual must have required experience in the following areas:
·  Demonstrable current and developing IFRS technical experience in all areas including insurance
·  High degree of autonomy and initiative
·  Taste for enquiries, dialogue
·  Team worker with a clear ability to build high quality relationships with all stakeholders
·  Excellent communication skills (oral and written)
·  Fluent operational English
·  Ability to explain technical data and highlight key risks for non-technical people
·  Capacity to influence
·  High level of result orientation and ability to work under challenging timelines
·  Minimum 8-10 years experience in finance related function (audit firm, PBR, corporate function…)
