Aviva's HR department is looking for a Payroll Advisor to work as part of a dynamic team to support the complex payroll process for the company.

Role & Responsibilities

As Payroll Adviser, your responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

  • Processing Aviva's payroll every pay period for roughly 17,000 employees
  • Maintain our payroll system and records by capturing, calculating, and inputting data
  • Calculating all statutory payments including maternity pay and shared parental leave
  • Answering staff questions about wages, deductions and attendance
  • Calculating manual payslips as required
  • Identify, investigate, and resolve discrepancies
  • Honour confidentiality of employee pay records
  • Assisting with production of P11d's
  • Assisting the Payroll Team Leader as and when required
  • Identifying customer demands/failure and waste by collecting customer data and establishing relationships across HR and other business areas
  • Prioritising your workload to meet payroll deadlines and audit requirements

Skills & Experience

  • You have a deep understanding of PAYE procedures
  • Strong payroll experience
  • Comfortable working in line with set processes and working to deadlines
  • Excellent mathematical skills and the ability to manually calculate statutory payments
  • P11d knowledge and understanding
  • Accuracy with data and attention to detail
  • Computer skills and confident working with accounting software and spreadsheets
  • Familiarity with wage deductions
  • Good verbal and written communication
