Job Title: TEC-Virtualization Wintel+VMWare

Key Skills /Abilities

 

Windows Experience

•    Experience: Administration & Implementation of Wintel ( 2 to 4 years) & Virtualization (1 year in VMware) setups.

•    In depth understanding of supporting technologies: DHCP/DNS, Anti-Virus, Systems   Management, Optimization Tuning, High Availability configurations.

•    Knowledge of local and remote computer system diagnostic tools.

•    Hands on delivery in a client facing environment.

•    Understanding of enterprise datacentre technologies including Networking, Security, TCP/IP, SAN and NAS, physical datacentre practices. Technical Knowledge (Projects):

•    Knowledge of methodologies for developing, building and configuring a system.

•    Awareness on monitoring tools like SCOM, SCCM, Nagios etc

•    Awareness on ticketing tools implemented on basis of ITIL process (incidents, changes, problem etc.)

•    Using ticketing tool and knowledge on ITIL concepts 

 

 

Wintel (Primary):

•    2- 4 years of  Wintel server administration experience

•    Assist in the planning, execution, and tracking of the projects. 

•    Standard / Enterprise 

•    Windows OS 2003/8/12/16 support 

•    Installation / troubleshooting

•    DNS core troubleshooting

•    Hardware installation concept of RAID

•    Backups Symantec /VERITAS/Arc serve/Avamar

•    Patching tools opsware/WSUS/Shavlik

•    Antivirus MacAfee/Symantec

 

 

 

VMWARE Experience

•    Strong technical knowledge of VMware ESX / ESXi and Virtual Centre, SRM

•    Experience in scripting - Power CLI and  Java

•    Experience on VMware VSphere 5.1, 5.5 & 6.0 installation and administration.

•    Should be able to provide VMware support including incident and work requests within the virtualization infrastructure spanning multiple datacentres, across multiple VMware ESX environments

•    Leverage good understanding of SAN/NAS/DAS technologies and Networking technologies

•    Troubleshooting the ESXi Host issues

•    Installation of patches to the ESXI servers

•    Troubleshooting storage and network level issues

•    Ensuring that the goals of the Incident Management process are achieved; restoring normal service as soon as possible based on customer perspective and within defined SLA; detecting, logging, categorizing and prioritizing incidents.

•    Experience in Setting up third party tools for monitoring for proactive alerts

•    Monitoring and analysis of system performance

•    Solving incidents and problems

•    Implementation of changes in the environment

•    Excellent communications and interpersonal skills

•    ITIL v3 Foundation

Process & Documentation:

•    Prepare and maintain systems documentation in accordance with AO, ITIL and ISO9000 policies and procedures.

•    Manage and control the Configuration Management Database (CMDB) to ensure it meets customer and ITIL standards and operational requirements 

•    Preparing documents knowledge database, work instructions etc..

•    Working knowledge on ticketing tool

•    Assisting & training team members on new technology & provide knowledge transfer to the team.

•    Experience in generating reports & doing call analysis
