The opportunity

Within Atos, a Project Technical Architect produces end-to-end High-Level Designs (HLD), combining services, technologies and products from multiple IT areas including desktop and server technologies; storage solutions; virtualisation, applications; network components; infrastructure tooling and ITIL-based processes.

 

Working on won business either from new logo wins or incremental sales on an existing account, the Project TA is usually part of a transformation and transition team working alongside Project Managers and Subject Matter Experts (SME) from multiple business units both internal and external.

 

The Project TA also provides governance and assurance of SME produced detailed design documentation, validating alignment to the HLD whilst adhering to Atos and account technology standards and policies.

During an assignment a Project TA is expected to consistently demonstrate the following key skills within the project assignment context

 

Your day-to-day responsibilities include:

Producing and describing client solutions and designs whilst working within the established Engineering and Architecture frameworks and integrating the appropriate templated solutions

Ensuring solution designs conform to our Technical Strategy and that any exceptions are agreed with, and signed off by, the Chief Technology Office or the affected Delivery areas

Translating business requirements to cost effective designs and technical solutions to customers business processes

Understanding solution risks and working to mitigate or provide alternatives

Understanding what a good Service looks like and working with other teams to ensure the solutions produced are supportable

Ensuring that design documentation is coherent end to end across the design lifecycle and that systems have been built to design

Providing advice and guidance to customers on the technical solutions including the realised business benefits.

Providing advice and guidance during service outages

Ensuring that individual High-Level Designs align to the overarching Architecture baseline

Providing leadership, guidance and support to the end to end design workstream teams including TAs and SMEs where required

Contributing to Technology roadmaps and Account strategies

Regular reporting to Lead Architect, Project Manager, Service Delivery Manager as appropriate.

Demonstrating collaboration with internal and external architecture teams to ensure alignment of requirements and solutions and to facilitate design sign-off and approvals

Ability to understand the business requirements and contracted services and clearly relate these to the solution requirements for other teams

Demonstrating that solution risks are understood, described and mitigated

Producing design documentation and technotes that are coherent end to end across the design lifecycle and meet our framework guidelines for their production and governance

Demonstrating ownership of technical troubleshooting tasks and showing that guidance and support is provided to SMEs in achieving the resolution outcomes

·  Learning and Development - Willingness to continually update and broaden technical area of expertise in line with business requirements

·  Quality control and assurance - governance and alignment of design to build

·  High quality documentation and communication skills.

 

Skills we’d like:

·  Experience of showing leadership at multiple levels within teams of Project resources delivering multiple deliverables as part of an overall programme of work
·  Capability to be the delegate for workstream technical Leads providing design governance and assurance.
