Cloud System Architect (VMware)
The primary purpose of the Cloud System Architect is to deploy and configure private cloud environments powered by VMWare automation & DellEMC hardware based on VxBlock or VxRack infrastructurein addition, Cloud System Architect will be expected to provide guidance and proper technical support to operations & deployment teams to ensure high quality of service delivery. This entails acting as center of excellence for the cloud delivery units and ensuring complex technical issues are assessed and consulted.
The range of activities for this role shall include the following:
· Participate in end to end hardware deployment for new private cloud builds;
· Configure infrastructure on all of its layers (network, compute, storage, virtualization)
· Deploy and configure VMWare based cloud automation stack
· Define and configure workflows that will enable automation;
· Perform Cloud upgrades including both automation and hardware layers
· Perform scaling activities
· Support Operations & Deployment teams with analysis of and consultancy for complex issues
· Participate in a global Atos Cloud technical expert community
· Contribute to defining proper patch & security baselines to ensure cloud security
· Drive continuous service improvement by analyzing re-occurring issues
· Coordinate with vendor support where required
· Interact with other IT departments and external vendors to continuously improve the product offering
Job Requirements
· Vmware VCAP (6 or 7) certification is minimum requirement;
· Proficiency in vRealize Suite (especially with Automation – vRA, vRO);
· Proficiency in configuring (virtual) firewalls, load balancers, web server security, DNS and related
· technologies;
· Good Knowledge of vBlock 300 and/or VxRack product family
· Good skills on OS administration (Windows & Linux)
· Knowledge of EMC Avamar and Data Domain setup is considered an advantage
· Network oriented certification is considered an advantage (CCN*, VCP-NV)
· Storage knowledge is considered an advantage (VMAX, VNX, Unity, vSAN)
· Service Now knowledge is considered an advantage
· Overall IT knowledge (storage, virtualization, networking, load-balancing);
· Good communication skills;
