Job Description:

Core Responsibilities:

• Performs data analysis, resolves computer system problems, provides computer training, assures proper computer setup and network maintenance and maximizes system utilization and performance.

• Manages upgrades/patches and maintains software programs in conjunction with third party systems contractor and coordinates-communicates testing requirements and schedules with all users;

• Maintains expert knowledge of and maintains financial system processes for software tools, in particular MUNIS and TCM;

• Regularly evaluates software tools for useful modules and enhancements;

• Ensures staff are properly trained on MUNIS and TCM;

• Responsible for creation of training materials as well as implementation of training programs as it relates to City financial system (currently MUNIS) and TCM;

• Responsible for maintaining communication with all financial system users;

• Analyzes current processes, identifies areas of improvement, creates implementation and training documents as they relate to the City financial system and Citywide workflow of City’s financial system;

• Troubleshoots issues before sending to help desk;

• Attends relevant training/conferences;

• Documents department workflows;

• Documents software integration;

• Identify additional departments the software could benefit;

• Maintain access/permission controls to the systems;

• Advises City and City Utilities staff on system’s related issues;

• Communicates effectively orally and in writing.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) or equivalent in Business Analysis or a related field.

• Minimum of two (2) years’ experience with as a Business Analyst or in a like function.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Ability to develop and maintain an effective working relationship with departmental personnel, other City Departments and outside vendors.

• Ability to retrieve and organize business requirements and convert them into a project with a defined scope. • Ability to quickly learn business processes and create solutions.

• Careful attention to detail and accuracy.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with any financial software and or content management system

• Ability to perform and communicate data analysis;

• Ability to perform cost benefit analysis; • Ability to create business cases;

• Experience with Microsoft, Crystal and other accounting software
