Amazon Web Services (AWS) is looking for experienced and collaborative pre-sales technical managers to coach, grow, and partner with customer-facing Solutions Architects in the mid-market and startup space. As a people leader you will be adept at delivering desired outcomes thru others while staying abreast of the detail. You will possess business, management, and technical experience that enables you to lead a team with engagements at the CxO level as well as with VP/Dir Sales, Engineering, DevOps, and IT architects.

In this role you will lead and influence customers to build, shape and grow their AWS business and in some cases their digital transformation to the cloud. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a fast growing and entrepreneurial organization, bringing innovation and growing the adoption of cloud. This role will require you to build/lead a team of technical professionals and first line managers and most importantly develop the strategy to grow AWS in your market. You will be responsible for evangelizing cloud computing, shaping technical solutions, and growing the team. You will also be responsible for working with the AWS partner team to develop a robust partner ecosystem. In particular he/she will:

Enjoy developing technical talent to achieve great things. You will have a passion for educating, training, and enabling cloud computing experts for a diverse and challenging set of startup and mid-market customers.

Have a strong understanding of solutions innovation. The ideal candidate will have past experience working with customers or similar role and leading architecture teams.

Roles and Responsibilities
· Lead a customer obsessed business that delights our customers.
· Demonstrate a history of designing cloud architectures.
· Hire, on-board, train, and develop new Solutions Architects from internal and external sources.
· Educate startups and mid-market customers on the value proposition of AWS, and participate in architectural discussions to ensure solutions are designed for successful deployment in the cloud.
· Develop and work with partners to extend reach and drive adoption
· Capture and share best-practice knowledge amongst the AWS solutions architect community.
· Guide and motivate the development of whitepapers, speaking engagements, and other high-value customer facing guidance and best practices.
· Build deep relationships with decision makers within customer accounts to enable them to be “Cloud advocates.”
· Act as a conduit and liaison between customers, service engineering teams and support.

Desired profile

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

· Strong management/team leadership skills.
· BA/BS in Computer Science or related degree.
· 10+ years of technology related pre-sales, technology consulting, or systems design experience.
· 7+ years design/implementation/consulting experience of distributed applications.
· 3+ years selling to or working in the Startup ecosystem.
· Working knowledge of software development tools and methodologies.
· Ability to travel up to 30% as needed.
