DESCRIPTION

We are looking for a smart, passionate candidate to join our team. Tax Engine is part of the Global Tax Calculation Services team, a program comprised of analysts, tax professionals and software engineers that are responsible for providing end-to-end global indirect tax calculation solutions (sales and use taxes, value-added taxes, good and services taxes, and other consumption taxes) to Amazon and thousands of other merchants selling on Amazon marketplaces, as well as other e-commerce platforms.

The individual in this role will be assisting with global product classification efforts for tax purposes, ensuring the tax calculation platform complies with both global and domestic tax laws. Part of the responsibilities will be participation on cross-functional projects within Product Classification platform, data analysis and reporting, support of outlining business requirements for system enhancements and E2E process improvements, testing new features in UAT environment, and communicating with PCS specialists to understand specific needs to be incorporated into the technical solutions.

Responsibilities:

· Performing analyses of PCS review data and participating in ongoing audit activities

· Supporting Machine-Learning initiatives for product tax classification

· Participating in cross-functional projects

· Supporting Project Owners in evaluating new business initiatives to determine if/what enhancements need to be made to the tax calculation services platform and identifying opportunities to improve processes

· Participating in team operational excellence programs and process improvements

· Maintaining metrics and reporting for measuring process effectiveness

· Collaborating with the team to systematically reduce churn and inefficiencies in the processes

· Assisting in designing tools and services supporting the product tax classification function

· Actively participating in selected projects throughout their life-cycle

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

· Tax/VAT background

· Proven track record in learning and applying new technologies.

· Proven problem solving skills and experience working on automation and process improvements

· Technical skills (Tableau, Machine Learning, scripting language is a plus)

· Experience leading projects

· Proficiency in other of EU 5 languages would be an advantage

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

· 3+ years of corporate experience

· Visual basic for applications and Macros

· SQL

· Proficiency in English

· Finance background

· Strong analytical skills

· Experience interacting with cross-functional teams

· Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines while managing multiple stakeholder needs in a fast-paced environment
