Job description

DESCRIPTION

Do you want to join a team of creative and talented software engineers who are helping to revolutionize hybrid storage and data movement to the cloud? Do you want to join a team responsible for some of the newest AWS services and have the chance to help define and build their future? If you answered yes to these questions and want to share in the excitement and challenge of building world class software solutions within AWS, the fastest growing division of Amazon, then come be a part of the AWS Storage Gateway team.

The AWS Storage Gateway team builds services which connect on-premises software appliances with cloud-based storage to provide seamless and secure integration between an organization’s on-premises IT environment and AWS’s storage infrastructure. The Storage Gateway team services present NFS, SMB and iSCSI compatible gateways and at re:Invent 2018 launched two brand new services: AWS DataSync and AWS Transfer for SFTP. AWS DataSync is a data transfer service which enables customers to simplify and automate the movement of data between on-premises storage and the AWS cloud at speeds 10 times faster than open source solutions. AWS Transfer for SFTP is a fully managed service that enables the transfer of files directly into and out of Amazon S3 using the Secure File Transfer Protocol (SFTP). So, if you enjoy creating software and solutions which have real customer impact than this is your chance to join a growing service team and help shape the future of its new services and contribute to its already successful portfolio.

As a Front End Engineer on the Storage Gateway team you will be responsible for the design and implementation of the web console, the defining part of the user experience. You will become part of a team of highly productive and action-oriented professionals and help define and implement the next set of features and functionality. You will work with the cutting-edge AWS console framework environment to create a user experience which exceeds customer expectations. You will investigate operational issues, resolve customer challenges and help maintain and enhance the operational excellence that creates loyal AWS customers. In short, as a member this team you will be given the opportunity to grow your technical and professional skills while being part of a dynamic and fast-growing service.

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is a dynamic and rapidly growing business within Amazon, with over a million active customers in 190 countries around the world. AWS’s code serves millions of requests per second and it does so with sub-second latency and in a fault tolerant manner.
