Our ad solutions—including Sponsored Ads, display, video, and custom ads—leverage Amazon’s innovations and insights to find, attract, and engage intended audiences throughout their daily journeys. With a range of flexible pricing and buying models, including self-service, managed service, and programmatic ad buying, these solutions help businesses build brand awareness, increase product sales, and more.

As a Business Intelligence Engineer, you will work with Partner Managers to ideate and build solutions enabling them to have high-impact, insight-driven conversations with their agency clients. These solutions may take the form of internal self-service scalable tools and dashboards, or product narratives containing key actionable insights Partner Managers take to clients. You must be results-driven and very comfortable with ambiguity. You should also thrive working autonomously with a healthy mix of independent and team work. On a day-to-day basis you will be diving deep into Amazon’s complex data stack, using a range of database and data analytics technologies. This is a critical role as your efforts will directly improve how Amazon engages with the largest performance advertising agencies.

Responsibilities for this role include:
· Design, develop and maintain scalable, automated, user-friendly systems, reports, dashboards, etc. that will support Partner Manager needs
· Analyze key metrics to uncover trends and root causes of issues
· Invent and innovate - Tell the story of business trends, patterns, and outliers through rich visualizations
· Work closely with various stakeholders across advertising sales, product and data engineering to define requirements and deliver solutions
· Experiment with Amazon’s rich set of Big Data Technologies to help advance our team’s work
· Recognize and adopt best practices in reporting and analysis: data integrity, test design, analysis, validation, and documentation

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

· Experience with data analytics in R / Python, data warehousing, database modeling and working in very large data warehouse environments requiring query fine-tuning.
· 3+ years of experience in a data engineer or BIE role with a technology company
· MBA or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, Mathematics or related field

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

· 5+ years of relevant work experience applying data modeling and analytical skills
· Advanced experience with ETL / SQL
· Experience creating custom tools and dashboards in Excel, or off-the-shelf tools like Tableau, QuickSight, Data Studio, and other similar platforms
· Advanced ability to draw insights from data and clearly communicate them to the stakeholders and senior management as required
· Self-driven, with demonstrated ability to deliver on ambiguous projects as well as projects/requests where the underlying data is incomplete
· Strong verbal/written communication and presentation skills
· Experience in gathering requirements and formulating business metrics for reporting
· Bachelor’s degree ideally in computer science, mathematics, statistics, economics, or other quantitative field
