DESCRIPTION

Our Sustainability/Social Responsibility team partners with internal businesses, suppliers, and service providers on a continuous improvement model, researching and identifying risks in places where we source and operate, and designing solutions to help understand and mitigate those risks.

As a business intelligence engineer in Social Responsibility, the ideal candidate will lead complex data analysis to identify factors that affect working conditions at factories and service providers. They are intellectually curious, highly self-directed, exhibit a strong attention to detail, are well-organized, can manage multiple projects simultaneously and deliver results in a fast-paced and ambiguous environment. They will turn research into actionable business intelligence that presents recommendations for senior leaders and socialize these findings to teams across Amazon.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

· Master’s degree in Computer Science, Math, Engineering, Economics, Finance, Statistics or a related discipline
· Experience working with AWS big data technologies (EMR, S3, Kinesis, Redshift)
· Experience with statistical modeling, regression and machine learning algorithms
· Knowledge of data science libraries such as scikit-learn and pandas
· Experience working with Amazon Builder Tools (Brazil, Apollo, Pipelines, etc.)

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

· Degree in Computer Science, Math, Engineering, Economics, Finance, Statistics or equivalent experience
· 5+ years of relevant work experience in Data Science, Data Engineering, Business Analytics, or Business Intelligence
· Experience developing, troubleshooting, and optimizing SQL queries, ETL jobs, and data pipelines in a business environment with large-scale, complex datasets
· Advanced skills in Excel and data visualization tools (familiarity with Tableau or QuickSight preferred)
· Experience conceptualizing and implementing data warehousing or data lake solutions to support long term business data needs (familiarity with AWS, API’s, Amazon’s internal DW tool suite, etc.)
· Fluency in Python or a similar scripting language to automate data retrieval, manipulation and analysis
· Impeccable attention to detail and ability to check your own work
· Be self-driven, and show ability to deliver on ambiguous projects with incomplete or dirty data
