Job description

DESCRIPTION

The Amazon in the Community team is seeking a senior, experienced, innovative Business Intelligence Engineer who will drive thought leadership in supporting the global Amazon employee base in community volunteering. You will use your passion and smarts to drive thoughtful business and analytical insights into how Amazon meaningfully connects employees and local nonprofit organizations to drive employee engagement in the community.

Amazon is committed to helping all children and young adults, especially those from underrepresented and underserved communities, have the resources and skills they need to build their best future. Amazon in the Community (AITC) focuses on building long-term, innovative, and high impact programs that leverage Amazon's unique assets and culture. Initiatives include Amazon Future Engineer, designed to inspire and excite 10 million children and young adults from underrepresented communities each year to pursue an education in computer science, as well as programs that support immediate needs, including fighting childhood hunger by providing access to millions of breakfasts through the nationwide Rise and Smile program, addressing family homelessness through donations and housing a homeless shelter in Amazon's Seattle headquarters, and global relief efforts for people in need following natural disasters.

As a Senior Business Intelligence Engineer working on the Amazon in the Community team, you will take a leadership role in understanding how employees are engaging in the community and how this impacts Amazon and local nonprofit organizations. You will collaborate with product management, software development, program management, and other business intelligence teams to design, implement and support a scalable and reliable infrastructure for data warehousing, business intelligence, and analysis. You will write high-quality code to store, retrieve and analyze data and implement reports, dashboards and metrics decks that represent best practices and are forward-looking, anticipating the needs of the business. You will provide insights that drive root-cause change at both the company-wide level and at the hyper-local community level. You will consistently think in terms of driving change with insights, through automation or dissemination of your results.
